I spent the first year of Covid lock-down actively hating my old kitchen. It was a high end kitchen that the previous owners of my home had installed 18 years before and while very nice, didn’t suit the house and was showing its age. Having lived in Germany in the 90s I knew I loved the German Aesthetic and was thrilled to find the German Kitchen Center online. I had many long months to look at the websites of every place in the Denver area. When it was finally safe to go out again one of the first things I did was to make an appointment at German Kitchen Center. At our first appointment my son and I explained that we had never done a major house project and needed a lot of guidance. The process was explained and a designer came out to takes measurements and understand the space. There is a huge selection of options and it took a bit but we finally decided on the cabinets we wanted. GKC has several lines but we chose Leicht. Leicht is smooth and sleek and with features I have not seen in kitchen cabinets before. The sides of the drawers are glass so you have a good view of what is in each drawer. The drawers are lined with a silicone matting that cleans up easily and keeps things from shifting in the drawer bottoms. I had 7 of my drawers lighted. It is so easy to find everything when you can see in the drawers at night. We also opted to have no handles - all push to open. I also have diffused lights that are under the edge of the counters in a couple of areas. This looks amazing at night and the lights are dim-able. I had never seen that with any other cabinet line. In addition I had the same cabinets put in my office nook that is adjacent to the kitchen. Leicht is very particular about how the lines of the drawers and cabinets and integrated appliances align. This is not easy to achieve in homes that are not all plumb. The installer is amazing and a perfectionist. After ordering and getting a time line I had to choose the appliances and countertop, sinks, faucets and backsplash. So many details. Because it was during covid the timeline got stretched out due to the issues that affected everything that had to be shipped from Germany as well as everywhere else world wide. Once the installation started the project was not without issues it being a 34 year old house with odd angles in corners and wiring that was maybe not ideal. Our contractor and the GKC installer worked together to make it all come together. Great appliances from Gaggenau and Thermador, Ann Sacks Tile, Cambria Quartz countertops, and some fun LED lighting and I have the kitchen I’ve always wanted. I feel confident that this kitchen will still function well not look dated in 20 years. Thank you German kitchen Center.
Working with Amy at the German Kitchen Center, we had a fantastic experience! The GKC provides interior design as part of the experience. German Kitchen Center was the fifth kitchen design store that I went to for assistance in my remodel. Katja met with me at my condo within 2 days of contact and LISTENED. She nailed all of my ideas on the first try! I had a small, poorly designed kitchen where I wanted to maximize storage and counter space and she delivered. I gave her large appliances to fit in, and she made them work. She is a problem solver. She also provided me with vanities for the bathrooms. I ordered my kitchen cabinets from German Kitchen Center in Red Hook. My design was quite unique and I initially had concerns about whether semi-custom cabinets could match my design concepts the way a fully custom solution would. I very much liked the quality of their products, particularly the Leicht designs we ended up using. Their products are among the best in the market, both top quality hardware and sophisticated finishes. Anna Pilipenko, the designer I worked with, made it all possible. Her deep knowledge of the product and the endless possibilities made me feel from the very beginning that what I envisioned for my kitchen could actually be designed, constructed and installed. This was a tricky project with many entities involved, since the kitchen was part of my apartment's complete renovation, and Anna communicated my design ideas perfectly, working closely with me and the production team.

I highly recommend GKC. I worked with Trey Monroe and Gisell Giraldo who both exceeded expectations in every regard. I used all Leicht products which I found to be so impressive in quality and design. Don’t let your builder pressure you into using his local cabinet guy who will charge far more for an inferior product. You just need to build in a longer lead time since they ship from Germany, but well worth the wait. I wouldn’t consider any other product in the future.
German Kitchen Center designed our kitchen. The design was a major change from what was existing. Bassel was phenomenal at assisting with any questions or issues. German Kitchen Center stood behind their product, design and made corrections where needed. German Kitchen Center is a true example of customer service is a priority and will do what it takes to resolve any issues. Bassel is very communicative, brilliant at solution finding and highly skilled at cabinetry installation. We love our kitchen!
We now have a glorious new kitchen from Leicht / German Kitchen Center, and are thrilled with the appearance and quality. We worked through the store on the Upper West Side. Petr Zahraj was our designer, Sam Simmonds was our project manager, and the Leicht installer was Jon. We took our time with the design process, and the end result made it worth the effort. My husband worked very closely with Petr to make use of every possible millimeter of space in our small galley kitchen. We ended up with a kitchen that feels more spacious and has more storage and workspace than we had before. Installation was amazing. Of course nothing is perfectly straight in any NYC apartment, yet everything is perfectly aligned. Jon did a beautiful job. Bottom line: glitches were minimal, it was all worth it, and we are completely thrilled with what we have.
This is my 2nd review (first in Dec 2017). We've now had our new GKC kitchen for 3 years. We have not gotten tired of it at all. On the contrary, being home for the last 5 months (and cooking a LOT more) has made us extra appreciative of the way our kitchen looks and the way it flows. Everything about it is glorious! The other day one of the drawers did not pop open as it should. We contacted Sam (with whom we'd dealt before) and he connected us with Richard Bocek. We were able to get a new piece of hardware, dropped off at our apartment, and Richard guided my husband through the process of replacing the part. Problem quickly solved, and at $0 cost to us. We could not be happier with our beautiful kitchen and highly recommend the GKC team.

Seven-and-a-half years ago, we were looking to remodel our modest 24" galley kitchen. We found German Kitchen Center and were impressed of the beautiful design and high quality of their cabinets, hardware and accessories. We were (and still are) actively cooking from scratch, so aesthetics had to be on the same level of consideration with ergonomics, low maintenance costs and reliability. We knew German quality kitchens were not cheap, but the price/quality ratio was right for the beautiful modern and functional kitchen we wanted. German Kitchen Center team fulfilled our dream and mitigated all dimensional and layout challenges in our New York City apartment. Three years ago we renovated an apartment in NYC and decided for the first time to customize a brand new kitchen. Best place to buy German or modern kitchen.
We have a apt in Kensington, Brooklyn and during the pandemic we knew that we were able to renovate. Our building was built in 1922 and the kitchen needed upgrades. Reuven has the ability to understand in terms of space (we have tiny kitchen in a one bedroom), functionality, and design exactly what you are telling him that you want and what you need. He helps you understand what could work best in terms of cabinets/furniture for your kitchen and how they would blend perfectly with the rest of your apartment. Reuven pays attention to detail, the day that of our cabinets where delivered, he was there inspecting every box, door, hinge, and piece that he was going to use in our kitchen. He and the person that installed our cabinets were able to work together with our contractor. Reuven and team delivered the project on time and exactly as he presented to us. We are extremely satisfied with our new kitchen.
We worked with Gabriela Campos to create a new kitchen in our pre-war apartment. Gabriela was a joy. She is creative and an excellent listener. She designed a beautiful kitchen and helped work with our contractors and the installers to keep everything on schedule. We love the quality of the cabinets and the feel of the space.

One of the main advantages of our company is our price flexibility. We are one of the first kitchen design companies in America that sells modern European kitchens starting at a mid-range price point. Previously, these kitchens were only available on the high end of the market.
Our manufacturers offer a wide array of cabinetry and accessories, and we have the right product at every price. Leicht and GKC each have nine different price groupings that represent the different kinds of styles and finishes. Additionally, you can value engineer your kitchen design based on various other options. For instance, different types of lighting, choices of accessories, specialized hardware and more.
The German Kitchen Center will work with you throughout the design process to give you a clear understanding of how each dollar is being spent.
The kitchen remodeling process consists of the following steps: measure your kitchen, create a floor plan, select cabinet finish and appliances, create an outstanding kitchen design, order the cabinetry, receive, deliver and install the kitchen, order any additional required parts, receive and install final parts, walk through and create a touch up list, complete touch ups including ordering, receiving and installing any last parts, and align and service the kitchen periodically.
Many kitchens can be completed in as little as a couple of months, depending on the design and scope of each project.
Nailing down the initial design could take a matter of days. Processing the order based on the initial design could take two or three weeks. Production of the cabinetry generally takes four or five weeks. Shipping the product from Europe usually takes four to five weeks. Delivery and installation of the actual cabinets is only a few days. The countertops are usually installed first, a week or two before the kitchen cabinets. After the cabinets are installed, it usually takes two days to hook up the appliances. Afterwards, there are a few stages of touch up, reclamation and finalization of the kitchen.
European Kitchens are steps up from American kitchens in virtually every category from ergonomics to technology to appearance. This is because European Kitchen designers approach kitchen design from a similar mindset to how they approach heavy industry. Germany is world-renowned for the precision of its mechanical designs and automotive brands like BMW, Mercedes and Audi are sought after for these reasons. The German approach to Kitchen design is no less advanced or precise. German auto manufacturers have model years and so too do German kitchen designers. So anticipated and celebrated are German kitchen designs in their own country that German Kitchen designers launch their new lines at gala events at Opera houses.
German Kitchens are built to high specifications of quality control. Nobilia, for example, tests the strength of its kitchen cabinets against the toughest of circumstances. They subject their cabinets to 80,000 cycles of use under extreme weight, far above the 20,000 or so actual uses expected from normal kitchen use over several decades. Because kitchens are subject to a lot of moisture, Nobilia literally submerges their cabinetry in water for 48 hours to see how well it can withstand wet conditions before approving a model. American made-to-order cabinetry isn’t subject to such factory precise construction, nor is it tested so rigorously.
Typically, you can expect no less than a 100% return on your investment with a German kitchen installation. But because German Kitchens are so prized they can make a bigger difference for the value of your home and apartment because they cause a transformation in the overall look and feel and create more useable space with their efficiency. Not only can you get back several times what you spent on your kitchen, it can be the tipping point that actually sells your home.

A kitchen designer is a professional, not unlike an architect. A German Kitchen Center designer understands the model lines in detail including their styles, shapes, functions and finishes. Non-kitchen designers might not understand the nuances between the different product lines and layouts.
